Kilrush RNLI is urging people to be conscious of the need to be safe on the water over the holiday period.
While the typical Christmas Day swims have been cancelled or gone virtual this year, many people will undoubtedly take to the waters of Clare over the coming days.
But those who do so are being reminded that the colder winter weather can bring with it more dangerous swimming conditions.
