Kilrush RNLI Urges People To Respect Water During Stormy Weather

It’s hoped that making it a criminal offence to enter the water during a weather alert will raise awareness of the dangers of Clare’s coasts.

Fianna Fáil is bringing forward legislation which would make it illegal to enter the water during a storm , and while Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he wouldn’t rush into creating a new crime, it’s something he believes should be considered.

There were several reports of people in the ocean in Salthill during Storm Ophelia.
