Kilrush RNLI issue warning after rescue incident

The Kilrush RNLI were called to the rescue of 5 young men stranded on a boat in the Shannon Estuary yesterday.

The men were on board a 16 foot open vessel which encountered engine trouble between Foynes and Glin, before being towed into Tarbert Pier by four members of the Kilrush Lifeboat Crew.

Kilrush RNLI is reminding all boat users to ensure they have life jackets on board, and use them as the rescued group of 5 had just one life buoyancy aid between them.
