Gerard Tubridy had been socialising in Walsh’s Bar in Cree on the night of St Patrick’s Day.

He left the bar in the early hours of March 18th, having received a lift home with a number of people.

At around 8am that morning, Gardaí received a call from staff at University Hospital Limerick to say he was in a critical condition with a head injury sustained some hours earlier.

He died two days later from his injuries, leaving behind his wife, two daughters, his mother and other members of his family.

Following his death, Gardaí launched an investigation and interviewed a number of people and today, nearly six months later, Gardaí have issued an appeal for information on the circumstances leading up to his passing.

An appeal has now been issued for anyone who was in Walsh’s Bar in Cree on the night in question to come forward.

Sgt Downey says they’re hoping to establish what led to the death of Gerard Tubridy.
