The winning ticket was sold in Miniter's on Henry Street, and at 8.3 million euro is the biggest ever lotto win in the county.

Mary Miniter says the search is already underway in and around Kilrush for the latest Clare winner of the National Lottery.

The €24 winning ticket was purchased in her store on Henry Street on Saturday, and includes the numbers 4, 19, 24, 25, 27, 43.

It's now worth 8.3 million euro.

Mary says she's very hopeful that the ticket was purchased locally, given that it's a quiet time of the year for tourists, while given the price of the ticket she's also optimistic that it is a group of people who are quietly celebrating today.

A short time ago, the Natioanl Lottery confirmed to Clare FM that the lucky winner hadn't come forward.

However, Information Officer Eleanor Murphy says that person still has plenty of time to do so.

Today's news continues a remarkable lucky streak for Clare, which has now produced three lotto winners in the space of seven months.

In August, a jackpot worth 6.1 million euro was won by a Limerick woman who bought her ticket in Lahinch, while a Clare couple bought a ticket in Quin in November, which scooped them the top prize of 5.5 million euro.
