The Cathaoirleach of the Killaloe Municipal District is hitting out at the Government for attempting to “influence” the planning decision on a controversial water extraction project.
An Coimisiún Pleanála has confirmed it’s delaying making a decision on Uisce Éireann’s proposed Water Supply Project for the Eastern and Midlands Region for a year.
The commission says it’s not “possible to determine the case within the statutory objective period due to the need for further consideration of the case”.
Killaloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Tony O’Brien claims it was “wrong” of the Taoiseach and others in Government to make statements pushing for the approval of the plans.
