John Sheedy's 7 year old son Noel passed away in October 1997, despite appearing healthy just a day previously.
It's currently Meningitis Awareness Week and from December babies born on or after 1st October 2016 will be routinely offered a vaccine to protect against the disease.
John is appealing to all families to ensure their children get the injection.
