The Killaloe Coast Guard Unit came to the help of to two vessels in difficulty on Lough Derg this evening.
The first vessel, with five people on board, experienced engine difficulty and drifted into shallow water on the Clare shore in Tinarana Bay.
The second vessel, which had one person on board, then ran aground while trying to assist the first.

Coast Guard volunteers were called to the scene and managed to tow the first vessel to safety in Killaloe, while the second could not be moved from the rocks, although the person on board was safely rescued.
