A Clare resident who’s been honoured for making strides in environmentalism is adamant that a difference can be made at a local level.
Kilkee-based University of Limerick graduate Sharmila Bano is one of ten people who received an accolade at An Taisce’s recent Climate Ambassador Awards.
Sharmila’s award was in the ‘community’ category and came as a result of her establishment of the Loop Head Climate Action Team as well as her work with youth climate workshops and flood risk assessment in Clare.
She says if you want to effect positive change in your community, it’s important to set a “boundary of influence”.
