A father of two from North Clare has been killed in a car accident in the US state of California.

46-year-old Brian McMahon, who was from Kilfenora but had been living in the US for a number of years, was struck by a car whilst out walking in the city of San Rafael on Friday morning, local time.
He was rushed from the scene to a local medical centre, where he was pronounced dead.
Local media reports say the unidentified driver of the car called emergency services and fully co-operated with officers.
