Kildysart Deaths Treated As Tragic Domestic Incident

Gardaí are treating the deaths of a couple in Kildysart last night as a tragic domestic incident.

The couple, named locally as 27-year-old Angelique and 44-year-old Cornelius Belling, died after they were found by Gardai with serious injuries.

Emergency services were attending the scene of an unrelated fire when Angelique Belling collapsed on the Main Street in Kildysart at around 7:30 last night.

44-year old Cornelius Belling was then found seriously injured inside the house but despite efforts to save them, both were declared dead at the scene.

The couple were originally from South Africa, and had been living in Kildysart for a short time.  It's understood they had suffered stab wounds to the upper body.

Two children who were discovered at the scene, believed to be aged 2 and 4, and they are now being cared for.

The bodies remain at the scene, which is sealed off this morning for a technical examination.

The Deputy State Pathologist is expected to conduct post mortem examinations later.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been in Kildysart last evening, particularly on the Main St, between 6pm and 7.30pm
