A meeting of EU Finance Ministers is underway in Poland this morning in an effort to end the continuing fiscal crisis.
The US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner – who is attending the meeting – is expected to urge ministers to intensify their efforts to stop the crisis from spreading to the wider economy.

Earlier this week he said European leaders have been behind the curve in dealing with the debt crisis – and he said Europe needs to show the world it can handle the crisis stemming from unsupportable debts in countries like Greece, Portugal and Ireland.
