Kenny Discusses NI Common Travel Area At EU Summit

EU leaders are concluding a 2-day summit in Brussels today.

It’s the final summit of all 28 member states before the UK triggers article 50 and formally announces its withdrawal from the EU – which will happen before the end of the month.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny had a bi-lateral meeting with the British Prime Minister on the margins of the summit last night.

Minister for European Affairs Dara Murphy was present at the meeting.

He said Ireland is confident an agreement on the common travel area with the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland could be among the first things to be agreed.
