Justice Minister warns of further garda station closures

Further Clare Garda Stations could be under threat as the Justice Minister warns more stations will close next year.

Speaking at the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors conference in Co Wexford -Alan Shatter says he doesn’t believe 703 stations are needed in such a small country.

It comes just days after the official closure of over 30 stations nationwide including at Carrigaholt in West Clare as part of cutbacks in this year’s budget.
