Just nine fines for breaching COVID-19 restrictions were issued by Clare Gardai last week.
It means there have been 412 fines handed out in this county for breaking public health rules to date since the punishment was introduced.
Only four of the country’s 27 other Garda divisions have recorded a lower amount of fines to date – in Kildare, Westmeath, East Dublin and South Dublin.

More than 20,000 individuals have now been fined by members of An Garda Siochana since the punishment was introduced back in February – the vast majority of which relate to leaving home without a reasonable excuse.
