The Junior Minister for Transport is to visit Shannon Airport this afternoon.

Hildegarde Naughton is to visit baggage screening facilities at the airport this lunchtime, which recently saw an investment of six million euro from her Department.

It’s also believed the Minister will attend the Irish Aviation Authority’s offices in Ballycasey to launch their new report on aviation sustainability.

The ministerial visit comes just days after Aer Lingus announced its intention to resume its Shannon to Heathrow route from the 13th of September, on a temporary basis for ten weeks while runway works take place in Cork.
