Junior Business Minister Addresses Financial Support Concerns Raised By Clare Retailers

The Minister of State for Business has addressed concerns raised by Ennis retaillers regarding the current schedule for Covid 19 financial supports for the sector, which are due to end in June.

Ennis retaillers are calling for the extension of current financial supports for an additional 12 months, as businesses across the county look to get back up and running as restrictions begin to ease.

With the supports due to end in six weeks, the Government has yet to announce an updated schedule of support for the business sector but a new Economic Recovery Plan is expected later this month.

Speaking to Clare FM today, Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail Damien English says that while he cannot provide exact dates for an extension to the financial supports, they will continue for a significant period.
