The Junior Minister in the Department of Agriculture insists that they are looking to improve access for farmers to veterinary lab service.

It’s after farmers from Clare and elsewhere in the MidWest carried out a demonstration outside the regional laboratory in Meelick, amid fears that an ongoing review could see it closed down, with services centralised to Kildare.

Similar protests have taken place at other such labs, while the matter has also been raised in the Dáil.
