The number of people living in poor health in Clare is on the up.
Figures released by the CSO reveal there’s been an 11.5 percent increase in people who state their health is bad or very bad since 2011.
At the date of the last Census in April 2016, 69,375 people in Clare stated that their health is very good – while a further 34,397 said they were in good health.
They make up 87.3 percent of the county’s population.
However, this is a 1 percent dip on the number of people satisfied with their health in Clare.
Close to 2,000 people, or 1.5 percent, consider their general health to be bad or bery bad – up from around 1,750 five years previously.
It means Clare’s health profile roughly mirrors the national one – with the same percentage of people around the country considering themselves to be in poor health.
