Joint Strategy To Cut Clare’s Hedgerow Problem

Clare Councillors and farming groups have joined forces in a bid to improve road safety throughout the county.

Following a lack of hedge cutting and verge trimming in some areas, drivers’ representatives have branded some of Clare’s roads a disgrace in terms of visibility and now a joint strategy is being planned to change this.

Representatives from the IFA, the ICMSA and the ICSA met with Clare County Council on the issue this week and further meetings are planned to outline ways of ensuring landowners comply with their obligations to trim roadside hedges.
