John Gilligan is insisting he had nothing to do with the murder of Veronica Guerin.

The drugs boss was driven away from Portlaoise Prison this morning.
He’d been in custody since 1996 and was jailed in 2001 for drug trafficking charges.
John Gilligan said he wouldn’t be talking to the media, but he has spoken to reporters telling them he never assaulted the journalist – who was shot dead in 1996 – or threatened to harm her son.
