Spanish Point mountaineer and philanthropist John Burke is to receive the Clare Person of the Year Award in Dublin this evening.
In the past 12 months, John has summited Mount Everest and established wellness charity Elevate with his wife, actress Aoibheann Garrihy.

As well as those achievements, the couple are expecting their first child together and John is busy running the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point.
Speaking ahead of the award, John said he was humbled to be named the 2018 recipient.
