The shops in Cruises Street in Limerick and Blackrock and Jervis Street in Dublin will cease trading early next year but 15 stores will remain open, securing 250 jobs.
The company sought the appointment of an examiner in July of this year in a bid to restructure its business and secure its long term future.
The restructuring plan also involves a rent reduction of 30 per cent across all stores.
Mothercare is currently in consultation with around 25 staff members affected by the store closures.
