Almost 800 Irish jobs have been saved as two companies exit examinership successfully.
Over 600 of the positions are at B&Q which has secured approval from the High Court today for an investment plan in the home improvement store chain.
The money will allow for eight stores around the country including in Limerick and Galway to continue trading as usual.
Meanwhile, clothing chain Pamela Scott has also successfully exited examinership.
The 12 stores that went through the process will now remain open securing 137 jobs.
The chain which employs 300 staff in total, in 24 shops, successfully renegotiated its leases and cut its overheads by 40 per cent.
The company now plans to open up to 6 new outlets in the next 18 months creating a further 50 jobs.
