JobBridge Figures For Clare Are Revealed

Nearly 230 people have taken up full-time employment directoly after they had taken part in a Job-Bridge placement in Clare.

However, figures released to the Dáil show that over 800 people have taken up one of these placements since the scheme was introduced in July 2011.

People who take part in Job-Bridge are given an extra fifty euro per week on top of their social welfare entitlement for nine months while they work with a company and the National Youth Council recently said the program needed to be reviewed.

44% of JobBridge interns here haven't finished their placements, but Junior Minister at the Department of Social Protection Kevin Humphreys feels that's a positive because many of those, he believes, are being offered work.
