A prominent West Clare campaigner says Ireland needs a new political leadership, and is launching his own party.

Kilbaha’s Jim Connolly, the chairman of Rural Resettlement Ireland, is today announcing the formation of The Irish Citizen’s Party and says such a radical initiative is required to bring Ireland back from the brink.
Mr. Connolly, an unsuccessfully candidate in the 2011 general election, says he is not seeking a political career for himself, but is hoping to facilitate those who agree with his party’s principles and wish to stand in the 2014 local elections.
