January Sees Small Drop In New Car Sales

There has been a small drop in the number of new cars sold in Clare in the first month of this year.

There were 935 new registrations in January, a 2% decrease on the same month in 2016.

Overall, car sales grew by almost 18% last year , with 3,150 cars sold across the year, however there was a slow down in the last quarter.

Economist Jim Power says Brexit is continuing to have an affect on the number of cars being purchased, but despite this, he’s expecting another solid year for the industry nationally.
