Clare people are being urged to go “Up the Hill for Jack & Jill” this October.
The Jack and Jill foundation supports 8 families in Clare in caring for their sick child and is asking people to climb a hill to raise funds for their specialist home nursing care, respite support and end-of-life care.
Mariea Kelly from Newmarket-on-fergus is mother to 4 ½ year-old Eric who is non-verbal, has global developmental delay caused by a chromosome disorder and requires 24-hour care.

He has a Jack & Jill nurse called Elsie who lets Mariea and her husband take a break, catch up on sleep, and spend time with Eric’s siblings, which she says is vital for their mental and physical health.
