It's been revealed that there was just one ambulance on duty in Ennis in each of the past two nights, and that West Clare was left without ambulance service for a time on Saturday.
A paramedic was taken from a rapid response vehicle to ensure ambulance cover in West Clare, but this meant the RRV was parked up as a result, a situation which has arose on a number of occasions in recent months.
