ISPCC Describe HIQA Report Into Mid West Foster Care System As “Very Concerning”

The ISPCC has described a HIQA report which highlighted shortcomings in the local foster care system as “very concerning”.

The report, published yesterday, found there was no record of Garda vetting for 30 foster carers in the Mid West and also flagged issues with how allegations of abuse or neglect were dealt with.

The report was welcomed by Tusla, who say areas where improvement is required are now being addressed.
