Irish Water is set to unveil plans for a new wastewater treatment plant in Ballyvaughan, to address long-term issues of discharge there.
As things stand, the equivalent of 900 wheelie bins of untreated sewage is being discharged into Ballyvaughan Bay every day.

The plans are set to be displayed to members of the public in the North Clare village tonight, with the view to getting a planning application in before the year end.
