Irish Water is to carry out works aimed at ending the problems of an odour in Shannon.

The state utility is briefing local businesses and interest groups on plans to increase investment in wastewater infrastructure in Shannon, and also in Bunratty.
This includes repair and upgrade works, as well as the cleaning of existing sewers and the construction of a new 2km sewer in Shannon town.
Irish Water hopes to start the works as soon as possible.
