Irish Water Defends Staff Bonus Scheme

Irish Water’s defended the implementation of a bonus scheme for all staff in the utility.

Senior management from the company confirmed staff will get bonus payments averaging €7,000 once they meet performance targets during an appearance before the Dáil’s public accounts committee last night.

Managing Director John Tierney said the payments were part of the model in Bord Gáis.

Meanwhile, a Dáil debate on a Fianna Fáil motion to make Irish Water subject of Freedom of Information requests will resume later this morning.
