Irish Water Commit to Shannon Treatment Plant Upgrades

Irish Water have indicated that they are committed to upgrading the facilities at the waste water treatment plant at Shannon.

The body which is Ireland’s new national water utility responsible for providing and developing water services throughout Ireland have stated that although it will take some time they will be improving the facilities in the Clare town.

Local representatives raised the issue with the service provider at a recent meeting in Ennis and while Irish Water have said this is something that won’t happen overnight they are aware that an update of the system in Shannon is badly needed.

Catherine Walshe Irish Waters regional operations and maintenance manager for Clare says the plant at Shannon is a priority.
