Irish Life sale falls through

 

The Irish taxpayer is going to have to forfeit 1.3 billion Euro to prop up Irish Life and Permanent after the sale of its life assurance arm fell through.

The government has confirmed that no bid has been acceptable yet for the company, despite significant interest from a broad range of potential buyers.

Irish Life has already received 2.7 billion Euro in State funding.
