Ireland’s oldest person and Clare native has passed away

Ireland’s oldest person,  – Clare Native Annie Kett, has died in her 108th year.

Mrs Kett, was born Annie Hayes in 1905 in The Glen, Killaloe and trained as a nurse in London before moving to Kilkishen where she farmed with her late husband John.

She passed away at Thorpe’s Nursing home in Clarina, Co. Limerick on Sunday, having celebrated her 107th birthday with family and friends there in December.

Annie Kett is survived by her Son and Daughter, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

She’ll be laid to rest in Garraunboy, Killaloe on Thursday.
