Tributes have been paid to East Clare woman Kathleen Hayes, following her 112th birthday this weekend.

The Feakle native born in 1902, and emigrated to the United States in 1921.
She now lives at a healthcare facility in New York State, and is Ireland's oldest ever citizen.
Caher Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes is a cousin of Kathleen, and says her long life is remarkable.
