Ireland’s first ever accredited course for tour guides is soon to be run in Ennis.
The Professional Tour Guiding module is a joint initiative between the local authority, local businesses, Ennis Chamber and Limerick Institute of Technology.

It’s part of efforts to capitalise on Ennis being named a Coach Friendly Destination last year and provides students with the professional, social and administrative skills necessary to offer a guiding service both in Ireland and overseas.
Programme Director Dr Noëlle O’Connor says Ennis could be the beginning of a much wider programme for Clare and further afield.
