Ireland Suffers Loses As Sterling Weakens

Ireland stands to lose more than 700 million euro in food exports and 7-thousand 5-hundred jobs if sterling weakens to the 90 pence mark.

That's according to a new review from the Food and Drink Industry on the impact of the Brexit vote.

The report shows that a 1 per cent weakness in sterling leads to a point-7 per cent drop in Irish exports to the UK.

Paul Kelly, Director of Food and Drink Industry Ireland, says the Government needs to take decisive action.
