Ireland South MEP Claims Renewable Energy Will Ease Pressure For Struggling Households

One of Clare’s representatives in European Parliament is calling for the ongoing rise in energy prices to be tackled as an urgent social and economic priority.

According to EirGrid, 40% of all Ireland’s electricity was produced by renewable energy in October.

It’s understood that during the month, the day with the highest renewable energy production saw prices nearly €90 lower when compared to the day with the greatest reliance on fossil fuels.

Fine Gael Ireland South MEP Seán Kelly says investment in a modernised grid is needed to ease pressure on financially struggling households.
