Ireland Shouldn’t Be As Stringent With Mandatory Hotel Quarantine – Carey

A Clare Government TD believe Ireland shouldn’t be as stringent, when it comes to mandatory hotel quarantine.

At his party’s parliamentary meeting last night, Fine Gael’s Joe Carey criticised ongoing restrictions and called for the phasing out of mandatory hotel quarantine, which is now set to be extended until July.

But the Clarecastle Deputy today says he believes there is a place for the measure, particularly when it comes to variants of concern.

He says the situation should be monitored carefully, bearing in mind the economic consequences of keeping the measure in place.
