“Ireland Can Become A Renewable Energies Superpower” Says Clare Based Engineers Ireland Thomond Region Chair

Chair of the Engineers Ireland Thomond Region believes Ireland can become a global superpower in renewable energies.

David Purcell cited Clare’s Offshore Wind Projects and the Shannon Foynes Port Company’s 2041 vision for the Shannon Estuary as major developments towards Ireland’s sustainable energy footprint.

The Clare native was recently elected Chair of Engineers Ireland‘s Thomond Region and will now oversee 1,500 regional members of the professional body who are based in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary.

The Sixmilebridge man wants to focus on sustainable and renewable energies in his time as Chair.
