IRBC liquidation may cost Clare County Council millions

The government’s decision to dissolve the former Anglo Irish Bank may cost Clare County Council around 2.5 million euro.

The Irish Bank Resolution Corporation had funded development bonds to this amount which were owed to to the local authority when the firm was liquidated last month.

Councils are now liaising with the government to see if this money has been lost along with the liquidation of IBRC.
