A garda investigation is underway to establish the cause of a fire, which claimed the life of an elderly man in North Clare.
Emergency services were alerted at around half past three this morning to the blaze at a house in Moymore.

The alarm was raised at around 3.30 this morning, after a blaze ignited at a house in Moymore, which is about 5 kilometres from Lahinch.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennistymon station, along with National Ambulance Service resources and Gardaí attended the incident.
A man, believed to be in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The local coroner has been notified and the scene has been sealed off to facilitate a post-mortem examination.
Gardaí say enquiries are ongoing.
