Investigations begin into early morning blaze at Ennis housing estate

A technical examination is underway into the cause of a fire that destroyed two houses in Ennis this morning.

Fire crews were called to Dun na hInse just before 5.30am where one house was ablaze while the fire had spread to a second.

A third house was also under threat but crews were able to prevent it being damaged.

The houses were not occupied at the time, and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.
