Investigation Underway After Hatchet Attack At Home Of Clare’s County Dog Warden

A garda investigation is underway after the home of Clare’s County Dog Warden came under attack by a person or people wielding hatchets.

Thousands of euro of damage was caused to two vehicles and the sitting room window of Frankie Coote’s home in the Drumcliffe Road area during the incident, at around 9 o’clock last night.

A number of people were in the house at the time, but there are no reports of injuries.

One person was witnessed running from the scene, and there are reports of a van parked up in the area at the time.

Gardaí in Ennis are investigating the incident and are appealing to anyone in the area at the time, who may have seen a person or a number of people acting suspiciously, to contact them on 065 68 48 100.

Frankie Coote has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the incident has been very upsetting, and he’s urging those behind it, not to involve his family in any grievances they may have.
