An investigation is underway following the discovery of human remains in Galway.
The remains, which are understood to be part of a woman's body, were discovered washed up in Kilcolgan on Tuesday, and were in a badly decomposed state.
Gardaí are now trying to establish the indentity of the woman and dental records will be examined.
In recent days searches have taken place in the North Clare area for missing Maria Hennigar, who was last seen in Doolin at the beginning of November.
