A Garda investigation has been launched following a robbery at a commercial premises in Ennis last Thursday morning.
The incident has been very described as very distressing for staff, however the suspect who fled the scene on foot was quickly arrested by Gardaí shortly after 9:40am.
He was detained at Ennis Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, where he was charged with a number of offences and brought before Ennis District Court where he was remanded in custody.
Elsewhere On Tuesday, at 3am Gardaí in Ennis responded to a vehicle on fire on the Drumbiggle Road.
A bronze Toyota Avensis was damaged in the fire and Gardaí are appealing to witnesses to contact Ennis Garda Station on 065 6848100 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
