An investigation has been launched after eight cows died as a result of a fallen power line in North Clare.

The incident happened in a field in Calluragh South, Ennistymon around 4pm on Friday evening after an overhead conductor came in contact with the cattle.
Repair crews from ESB Networks carried out repair works following an initial inspection and notified landowners.
Over 1000 customers were affected by the resulting power outage.
ESB Networks says an investigation into the incident is being carried out.
