The Minister for Transport says a full investigation will be launched into security failings at Dublin Airport.
The airport has failed an EU audit on two counts – one has since been resolved and the other is being fixed.
Both Shannon and Dublin airports are unaffected by the issues.
However, Minister Varadkar says the Dublin Airport Authority knew about one of the problems – but failed to resolve it properly.
